Shop

Welcome! I have moved my shop to Square.

The items below represent some of my work, past and present, that might interest you.

All objects are treated with food grade oils, such as flax, tung and walnut, and then stored away for several weeks to allow the finish to cure.  I use milk paint from the Real Milk Paint Company, whose paints are non-toxic and food-safe. Many times I layer colors and allow base coats to show through. I also scorch the interior of some of my bowls, which leaves a luscious black surface that makes food look amazing and cleans up really well.

Caring for your treen: simply wash with soap and water! Avoid soaking for long periods, and no microwaves or dishwashers. If the wood looks dry, apply food-grade flax, walnut, or tung oil, but it is not necessary. Will gain character with age and use.

Box Elder serving bowl.
This one is special.  I don't get this wood often, and it is rare to find in larger diameters.  It did have a few worm holes, but they are plugged and should not pose a problem.
